Exemptions




NEW CONSTRUCTION EXEMPTION

Pursuant to section 798.7 of the Mobilehome Residency Law (MRL), spaces constructed after January 1, 1990 are exempt from rent controls. The exemption is included in order that interested parties have notice of applicable state law.

LEASE EXEMPTION

Currently, section 798.17 of the MRL provides that leases which meet a prescribed set of conditions are exempt from rent control. Pursuant to this law, a substantial percentage of the spaces in parks located in rent controlled jurisdictions are exempt from regulation.
